A thaumatrope is an optical toy. A disk with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string and when spun the two images appear to merge. -
Phenakitescope
A disk that has multiple stages of a sequence going around the disk, and when turned in place , the images creat motion and plays out the sequence. -
Zoetrope
A pre-film animation device that shows the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings showing progressive phases of that motion. -
Flip-Book
The story was drawn movement by movement on each page of a fli-book, and when the books pages were flipped at a fast speed the pictures would blend and look like a moving sequence -
