    The Phenakistoscope - By Belgian Physicist, His Sons and Austrian, Simon Van Stampfer
    An erly historical event in animation history took place in 1831, From 1831-1839, Belgian Physician Joseph Plateau, his sons and Austrian Simon Van Stampfer invented a spinning disk-like object known as the "Phenakistoscope". It allawed people to look throuh a small hole while the drawing, reflected by a mirrior is spinning, thus creating the illusion of movement, animation.

    In 1868, John Barn Linnet invented a small book with pages known as the Kineograph, modern day flip books. This invention like the Phenakistoscope and others before it, was the next big step for moving images. It created an illusion of movement as one bends and flips the images move really fast.

Istead, families started to watch their short animation films on a new invention known as televison. On televison (TV) a knew sticome known as the Flinststones created by American animator William Hanna and Italian American cartoonist Joseph Barbera was getting ever more popular. Not only was it the firts series on prime television, it also brought in major amounts of success.
