  • 1971 P.A.R.C. vs Common Wealth of Penn

    Parent advocate group filed a class action against the school district. The school district was denying children with mental illness the right to education. The case result was the origin for F.A,P,E, and IDEA, all children despite their mental state are allowed free public education. Schools are to identify the "Mental Retardation" and begin to educate them. Evaluations are to be administered to place students in appropriate classes.
  • 1972 Mills vs Board of Education, District of Columbia

    District of Columbia was expelling children with behavioral issues without the process of resolution and no other way of education elsewhere. As the result, The district must provide free education or a suitable alternative, paid by the school board to all students who were in need of behavioral support.
