    Larry P. Vs Riles

    In 1971 a class action was filed in the federal district on behalf of six black elementary students in San Francisco district but later expanded to the entire state. Larry P. Vs Riles is a landmark case that took place in the state of California. The case prohibits the school districts from using IQ tests to evaluate black students for placement in special education classes.

    Board of Education of Henrick Hudson School System Vs Rowley

    This Supreme Court decision clarified “appropriate” education by determining that the intent of P.L. 94–142 is to open the doors of public schools to students with disabilities, not to provide opportunities for students to reach maximum potential Henley, M., Ramsey, R. S., & Algozzine, R. (2009). The case is important because it allows students to receive all the needed services in the school. For a child to be able to reach their full potential they have to receive all the needed resources.

    Honing Vs Doe

    This case was file due to children with disabilities being expulsed from school because of their behavioral. These children had IEP's which the school system knew about before the expulsion. These students were denied their rights to an education. The law make it unlawful to denied a child with an IEP education because of behavior or emotional issues.
