    American Journal of Education
Being an educator is one of the most rewarding jobs there is, but there also comes a lot of responsibility to know and understand the necessary material to ensure that you are doing your job correctly and to the best of your ability. This is where things like the American Journal of Education comes in play, because without things like this educators would have been at a loss as to what they needed to know or what they needed to do.
  • The Cardinal Principles Report of 1918

The Cardinal Principles Report of 1918
This act really gave students their own voice when it came to their education and their future goals. Rather than trying to conform everyone into one very small and specific group of learners, they allowed them to blossom and to explore options that would suit them on an individual level while still making sure everyone got common core knowledge in certain areas of learning. This type of environment really empowered students both academically and personally, especially from teacher support.
  • Pierce v. Society of Sisters

    Pierce v. Society of Sisters
When the Society of Sisters stood up to the state of Oregon, their intentions from the beginning revolved around the children and their families. These Sisters were not going to stand by and let the Government ignore the rights that these people were entitled to by law when it came to their decision about how they would receive their education. If it were not for the bravery and determination of these Sisters, the choice of education might be drastically different in today's world.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
This act not only impacted the world of education, but our world in general as well. This act made it clear to the public that denying African American children the right to education was an injustice and gave them the opportunity to learn, just like the White children. Finally these children had a basic human right that they had been deprived of for so long, just because of the color of their skin. Doing such a thing would be one of the first steps to equality for all, among all ages.
  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or Public Law 94-142

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or Public Law 94-142
This act advocates for children with disabilities, no matter how big or small they may be. There was an obvious injustice being done to those who had disabilities and struggled in public schools by not giving them access to the extra services/help that they needed in order to succeed in their studies. This act turned all of that around and became a savior for these children, giving them confidence and reassurance that they can succeed in whatever they put their minds to, just like any other kid.
