    Mongol tribes led by Genghis Khan invade Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
    Were then assimilated into the Turkic tribes.
    The 15th century began the formation of the distinct ethnic group of the Kazakhs.
    Kazakhs split into three tribal unions, the Elder, Middle and Lesser Zhuzes, or Hordes.
