    Magna Carta

    The Feudal Barons and King John signed the Magna Carta. The rights that were given to the subjects/people were that the people were allowed to overthrow the king.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    It was to prevent heresy among the Puritans and non-speratist Pilgrims who arrived in Plymouth a few days earlier.
  • Petition of Rights

    Petition of Rights
    3 rights guarenteed were freedom of speech, freedom from royal interference with the law, and, freedom from unjust punishment. Charles I signed it.
  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    The English Bill of RightsKing and Queen William and Mary of Orange County. The people had certain civil and political rights and the religious liberty was limited for those who were non-Protestant
  • Albany Plan of Union

    The representatives from seven of the British North American colonies suggested this plan. However, the plan never happened.The political cartoon that is associated with the Albany Plan of Union was the Join or Die.
  • King Geroge III takes power

    King George III, along with the parliament, decided to have the colonies pay for part of the war. This caused the colonies to be angry. The colonies were forced to abide by the new taxes causing strain between them. King George also said they had to stop settling in and beyond the Appalachian Mountains.
  • Stamp Act

    Items that were taxed were ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and playing cards. The colonial leaders reacted by boycotting and supporting non-importation of goods.

    The Boston Massacre Timeline
    5 people died in the Boston Massacre. There were a lot of British soldiers in Boston making a militiary presence to maintain order. The people taunted the soldiers because they saw them as invaders. The citizens acted out against the British soldiers causing gunfire to be heard in the streets.
  • Boston Tea Party

    It was a group of Massachusetts Patriots who organized the event. Britian made acts to punish the Patriots for throwing 342 chests of tea into the river.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    After the destruction of the Boston Tea Party, the British wanted the colonists to pay for all that was lost. So they passed these acts. The provisions were: the port was closed, town meetings were only allowed if the governer approved, Brittish officials charged with crime were sent to Britian for their trials, colonists were forced to allow soldiers into their homes, and the boundaries of Canada were extended.
  • French Indian War

    French Indian War
    The major players were the French, the Indians and the British and Colonists (Americans). Some of the major battles were the Battle of the Wilderness, the Battle of Lake George, and Battle of Detroit. Ultimately, the Brittish won the conflict. This changed our relationship with the Brittish by worsening the relationship with England and the colonies with eventually led to the Revolutionary War.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    Colo. George Washington, Richard Henry Lee, Patrick Henry, Edmund Pendleton, Colo. Benjamin Harrison, Richard Bland, and at the head of them Peyton Randolph were the major personalities. The Association was a result of this event. It took place in Philidelphia.
  • Lexington and Concord

    THE BRITISH ARE COMINGThe result of this event was that the Revolutionary War had begun. The major generals were Colonel Smith, Major Pitcairne, Lord Percy, Paul Revere, and William Dawes. Paul Revere was the one who shouted, "The British are coming!"
  • Second Continental Congress

    They met at the State House in Philly. The ideas that came about were seperating America from Britain, establishing militia, and electing George Washington as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. John Hancock,Samuel Adams, John Adams, and George Washington were the colonial leaders involved.
  • Declaration of Independence

    We officially broke away from England. This was the best break up letter ever written.
  • Articles of Confederation

    The first president under the articles was John Hanson.
  • Start of Constitutional Convention

    They wanted to amend the Articles of Confederation, therefore this event happened. Also was suggested to create a new government instead of fixing the exsisting one.
