The Battle of Koprukoy was between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire, and occurred in Erzurum. The Russians were able to catch the Ottomans completely off-guard, pushing them farther out of Erzurum. Even with the Ottoman counter-attack days later, they could not retake the land.
