The fire lance had a very great shock advantage, and as gunpowder improved, the explosive discharge was increased. However, the range is very short and only one shot was allowed. -
The cetbang was a type of cannon that was produced and used by the Majapahit Empire. The early Cetbag was made from bronze, and is a breech-loaded weapon. The size of the weapon varied from one to three meters long. The use of cannons was widespread in the Majapahit navy, amongst pirates and had a great effect against traditional boarding-style warfare of other kingdoms in the archipelago. -
By the 14the century, cannons were used widespread throughout Eurasia. Early cannons were very small, and therefore were able to move rather quickly. Some of the earliest use of the canon batted in the battle of Crecy, where it was the English against the French in 1346 that helped the English win. -
The creator of the gun, Dr. Gatling created the Gatling gun to reduce the size of armies and therefore reduce the number of deaths by combat and disease, and to show how futile the war is. The Gatling gun was first used in the American Civil War. -
The mechanism of the Maxim gum created by Sir Hiram Stevens Maxim employed one of the earliest recoil-operated firing systems in history. The gun was heavily used by different army such as Russo-Japanese War and the First and Second Wars. The Maxim gum was greatly influential in the development of machine guns. -
During the first world war, Austria-Hungary introduced the world’s first machine pistol. The sub-machine gun is an automatic firearm with notably less firepower than a machine gun. During the second world war, millions of sub-machine guns were made for use because of its improved firepower and portability offered in advantage in trench warfare. -
The StG 44 was created by Hugo Schmeisser and was the first successful assault rifle, with feature including the intermediate cartilage, controllable automatic fire, a more compact design than a battle rifle with a higher rate of fire, and being designed primarily for hitting targets within a few hundred metres. The StG became the global standard for infantry rifles.
