    Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting
    On December 14th, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut shot and killed 26 people, 20 of those were children under the age of 7. When the police arrived on the scene, the shooter had already shot himself. This brought up a lot of controversy about the propsal of making background checks before someone buys a gun.
  • San Bernardino Shooting

    San Bernardino Shooting
    On December 2nd, 2015 14 people were shot and 22 others were seriously injured. This was a terrorist attack, and an attempted bombing. This took place at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The shooters were a married couple, who escaped the scene but were then later shot in a shootout four hours later. The couple were inspired by foreign terrorist groups.
  • Orlando Night Club Shooting

    On June 12th, 2016 a 29yr old security guard killed 49 people and wounded 53 in a gay night club in Orlando, Fl. The police hot him after a 3 hour stand off. At the time it was considered the deadliest terror attack since 9/11. With that being said, this was a terrorist attack.
  • Las Veas Shooting

    On October 1st, 2017 a gunman who was staying on the 32nd floor at the Mandalay Bay hotel on the strip, opened fire on a crowd attending the Route 91 Music Festival. He killed 58 people, and injured 422. The shooting occurred between 10:05 and 10:15 p.m. About an hour later, the shooter was found dead in his room. He shot himself. The gun law that this brought attention to is the Bump Stock Law. As a result, bump stocks were banned by the U.S. Justice Department in December 2018
  • Sutherland Springs Church Shooting

    Sutherland Springs Church Shooting
    On November 5th, 2017 a shooter fatally shot 26 people, including an unborn baby, and wounded 20 others during a mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The shooter later crashed during a high-speed chase and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.The shooter had illegally purchased a gun.
  • Thousand Oaks Shooting

    Thousand Oaks Shooting
    On November 7th, 2018 at Borderline bar and grill in Thousands Oaks, California a mass shooting took place, inflicted by college students. 13 people were killed including the shooter. He shot himself. The gun used was a semi-automatic pistol.
  • Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting

    Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting
    On February 14th, 2018 a gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people and injuring 17. The shooter was a 19 year old expelled student. Police could not find an exact motive as to why the shooter did this. The shooting came at a period of heightened public support for gun control that followed mass shootings in Las Vegas, Nevada and Sutherland Springs, Texas, in October and November 2017.
  • El Paso Shooting

    On the morning of August 3rd, 2019 a gunman shot and killed 22 people, leaving 24 injured. This crime was considered a hate crime, or an act of terrorism. This shooting is considered the 7th deadliest mass shooting since 1949.
