US passes Naval expansion Act
United states congress passed this act in order to allow Rosevelt to expand the Navy. The Expansion Act granted 1 billion dollars. This act increased the Navy by 20%. Rosevelt urged for this act due to his fear of the war. -

Japanese attack United States at Pearl Harbor
Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attack the base Pearl Harbor on the island of Honolulu, Hawaii. The Japanese managed to destroy 20 american naval vessels, 200 ariplanes and over 2,000 soldiers and sailors. United States declares war on Japan

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.” Rosevelt walked into the house of represenatiaves requesting a delaration of war. Within an hour the declaration was approved. Rosevelt signed the declaration at 4:10 pm. -

The German leader Hitler commited suicide just a day before. Because the soviets were approaching the Capital city of Berlin. The western allies were also approaching the city from the west. After Hitlers suicide Karl Dönitz was left to complete the surrender. -

This was the first ever atomic bomb to be dropped. this explosion killed aproximately 40,000 people. Even after the explosion tens of thousands died due to Radiation. Japan still hasnt surrendered -
United States drops second atomic bomb on Nagasaki
The United States drops another leathal bomb. The 2nd bomb was dropped in a second attempt to make Japan surreneder. Within 2 days the Japanese surrendered. -

The war concluded with the unconditional surrender of the axis powers. There was a formal surrender ceremony in tokyo Bay on Board the USS Missouri. it is officially over.
