Project Approved by City Council
The East Lansing City Council officially approved the $5 million M-43 road construction project during their February 19th meeting, about a month before construction is scheduled to start. -
Construction begins
The first phase of the project begins with work on Michigan Avenue from the west city limits to Grand River Avenue and Grand River Avenue from Coolidge Road to Michigan Avenue. Construction includes roadway and sidewalk improvements. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained throughout the project. -
Phase Two Work Begins
Phase two work began with work on Grand River Avenue from Bogue Street to Stoddard Avenue. Work causes a single lane closure on eastbound Grand River Avenue in order to allow for the sidewalk improvements and Americans with Disabilities Act infrastructure. -
Phase One Tentative Completion Date
Work on M-43 (Grand River Avenue) between Coolidge Road and Michigan Avenue is expected to be completed. -
Phase Three Work Begins
Construction on Grand River Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Bogue Street begins. MSU graduation is May, 5 so construction will not interrupt graduation traffic. -
Phase One Tentative Completion Date
Work on Michigan Avenue from the west city limits to Grand River Avenue expected to be completed. -
Phase Three Tentative Completion Date
Work on Grand River Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Bogue Street expected to be completed. -
Phase Two Tentative Completion Date
Construction on phase two of the projects is expected to be completed sometime during the month of September. No work will take place on holidays or home football game days.
