John's Birthday
On John's 14th birthday he realizes that he has "sinned his hand". He acts the same but his mind is developing and he is growing up but he wants to keep being God's disciple. He walks in to his mother and brothers conversation. They always argue about their father being respected when he doesnt deserve it. -
Roy's trouble
John comes home he sees that Roy has brought trouble for himself and got stabbed acrosss the face. Gabriel is very upset with the white people for doing it when he knows well that it is Roy's fault. Elizabeth and Florence tell him that Roy is careless just like him and he becomes angry. He beats his wife and son. -
Church
John goes to church and cleans up with his friend Elisha. Elisha tells John a piece of advice about growing up and he needs to overcome obstacles about temptaions. -
Florence in church?
Florence goes to church for the first time in forever. She starts praying and everything there reminds her of her mother. She remembers her mother leading in prayer. -
Gabriel's life
Gabriel flashes back to his life and he remembers when he started his new life with Elizabeth. He remembers the people that were in his life. -
Elizabeth's Prayer
She flashes back to her past life when she was in love with her ex husband. He had commited suicide not knowing Elizabeth was pregnant with John. -
Rebirth
The family is together and they encourage John. However, Gabriel is still mean and still doesn't approve of John. John seeks a new life where he is clear of sins and God is his love.
