    Much of the initial setup included collecting, rectifying, creating, and organizing GIS data. Once some data was brought together, it was organized and we established the Township's Geodatabase, or 'the building blocks for future map making'.

    The County of Frontenac, in partnership with the Townships of Frontenac, launched the dynamic mapping tool 'Frontenac Maps' to allow the public to view geospatial information throughout the entire County. This great tool will be continually maintained and developed.

    Developing and Refining Data for the creation of a Comprehensive Wall Map

    Much time was spent on refining the data to be used in the Township's first comprehensive Township Wall Map. The data was brought to a high accuracy and a Large Wall Map was finalized in late 2011 and will be available to the pubic shortly. This wall map, measuring 36” x 44”, comes in two (2) variations; Lots and Concessions or Topographic. Demos will also be on display at the Township Office shortly.

    NFPL Interactive Map
    This dynamic web mapping tool displays the campsites, water access points, and permit roads in the program. It allows users to easily select campsites on the map and check availability and book the site. Other tools allow users to measure their canoe routes or hiking distances. This tool is available online or through a free app on smartphones and tablets. Check it out here

    Several customized Google Map tools were placed throughout the Township's website to quickly display locations and relative information for [Schools, Libraries, Parks, Churches, Cemeteries, Community Halls,] [Waste and Recycling Sites,] [Emergency Fire, EMS and Police Services.]

    Cemetery Maps for all 11 Cemeteries

    The existing cemetery maps that have been handed down for many years, are old and difficult to read and maintain. The layouts and locations of cemetery burials will be GPSed and established in digital formats that can then be made accessible in mapping applications or in hardcopy, for staff and the public. This project is currently in progress.

    The Schooner Trail is the NFPL's first official trail. This map provides an elevation and photo tour of the trail.

    Statistics Canada 2011 Census Maps
    These online maps display population, growth, density data, and a private dwellings analysis from the 2001, 2006, and 2011 Statistics Canada Censuses, for North Frontenac and other Census Subdivisions (CSDs) the surrounding area.

    This static reference poster will be placed at the entrances of Permit Roads in the Park Lands program. This will clearly show what roads require a Road Permit for travel.

    NF Township Wall Map (Lot/Con and Topo versions)
    A Comprehensive North Frontenac Township Wall Map was finalized in late 2011 and will be available to the pubic shortly. This wall map, measuring 36” x 44”, comes in two (2) variations; Lots and Concessions or Topographic. Demos will also be on display at the Township Office shortly. The appropriate bylaws must be passed before sale to the public.
