    Gill’s Professionals started off as The Business Card Book of Staten Island in January of 2006. It entailed a simple design with eight business cards on each page with an overall product consisting of four pages. Discounts were apart of the book, but did not yet have their own tear out coupon. Instead, you had to mention The Business Card Book to receive the discounts.

    In the Winter of 2007, The Business Card Book adopted a more complex design. It now had a cover with images of Staten Island, a map distinguishing all of the zip codes within Staten Island, and Index directing you specifically to what you want, and the option for larger advertisements. The Business Card Book for the first time separated the businesses by zip codes in the book to make it easier for you to navigate discounts closest to you. The overall product contained 34 pages!

    From 2008-2009 the publication increased in quality value with a lot more local connections to bigger companies such as Dunkin donuts, McDonald’s and Subway. This new issue contained a new index that separated the businesses by category, so it would be easier for the consumer to specifically target their needs.

    In 2011, the name of the magazine was changed to Gill’s Business Card Book, which came out with a special restaurant edition. This new issue adopted the layout Gill’s Professionals uses still today. This was the start of a cleaner design and higher quality value. The magazine was given a barcode for the first time marked $3.99 for in store and charity value and $2.99 when you subscribe to the magazine, even though Gill’s Business Card Book is FREE for all!!

    After the 2011 Volume 2 issue of Gill’s Business Card Book, the name of the magazine was changed to Gill’s Professionals. We added a Business Card Directory as well as a QR code to keep up with the importance of mobile use to access extra savings.
  • Gills Convienient Coupons

    Gills Convienient Coupons
    At the same time Volume 6 of Gill’s Professionals was in the works, a new product was born called Gill’s Convenient Coupons. This is a very specific product based on zip codes within Staten Island. We do a mailer for each zip code and all businesses within or near that zip code can advertise their business and put coupon offers that get distributed to 5,000 homes within that zip code.

    This new issue contained a new index that separated the businesses by category, so it would be easier for the consumer to specifically target their needs. This issue also did not just limit its business to Staten Island. Brooklyn business were involved as well! A section for menus in the beginning pages of the book was a new addition to the issue as well as a brand new cut out coupon layout.
