    The Cold War was a 40 year war. It ended durning George H. W. Bush's presidency. As it was ending, the Berlin Wall fell and the Communist Empire broke up. The Cold War ended approximately in 1990.
  • Apple Industry

    Apple Industry has had many products made in the past years. They have created the Apple Computers, many kinds of Ipods, the Iphone, Ipads, and Itunes. The reasons why Apple is such a sucessful industry because the products are easy to use, many people are interested in the products, the industry offers great customer service, and because Apple is always ahead of the competition. Apple Industry is still making on going products today.
  • No New Taxes

    No New Taxes
    No New Taxes happened when George H. W. Bush was president. No new taxes meant that a candidate or elected official would agree and sign that they will oppose and vote against tax increases.
  • Persian Gulf War

    Persian Gulf War
    Iraq's President Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and also threatened to invade Saudia Arabia. George H.W Bush wanted to prevent this, and free Kuwait, so he sent in 425,000 American troops. Later, the United States allies sent in 118,000 to help acheive George H.W Bush's goal. The Persian Gulf War ended on February 28, 1991.

    A balanced budget is most commonly know as a time when there is no budget deficit. Clinton proposed the first balanced budget in many years. Also, Cliton acheived a budget surplus.

    Nafta stands for the North American Free Trade Agreement. Nafta included the United States, middle class Canada, and Mexico. Nafta promised that it would create many good jobs, curb illegal immigration, and raise living standards. Nafta was accomplished by Clinton.

    J.K Rowling started publishing her books in 1997. Her Harry Potter series contained a total of 7 books. Her books were translated into a total of 70 different languages. Later on, J. K. Howling's books were made into very sucessful movies. The Deathly Hallows Part 2 sold $168.6 million in tickets just in North America, creating the biggest opening weekend in history. The last movie was played on July 15, 2011. The last book was released on July 21, 2007/

    It was suspected that Clinton was having an affair with Monica Lewinsky. Later on, evidence was given to prosecutor Kenneth Starr. The evidence was intimate recorded conversations between Clinton and Lewinsky.

    During the election of 2000, George W. Bush had a double-digit lead over the running candidate Al Gore Jr., but later on Al Gore Jr. won over the popular voting which hinged on Florida's electoral votes. This situation was brought to the Supreme Courts attention. In the end, Bush won by a count of 271 to 266.

    9-11 was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, and also an attack to the White House that failed. Nearly 3,000 americans were killed in the attack. George W. Bush was the president during this time period.

    In 2002, George W. Bush put North Korea on the "axis of evil" for wanting to expand their nuclear missle capabilities. The term that George W. Bush used; the axis of evil, means that he feels the governments on the list are involved in helping terrorism and want weapons that could do mass destruction.

    On August 23, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Golf Coast, hitting New Orleans tremendously. More than 1,700 people were killed, and other were left with destroied homes and left distraught. There were 145 mile hour winds, destorying many things. It ended on August 31, 2005. People are still helping repair New Orleans.

    Taylor Swift is a young country singer. She has won many awards, sold many albumbs, and has had many sold out concerts. She was also on some t.v shows such as Punk'd and Saturday Night Live. She is in her 20's and writes her own songs about things that happen in her life. Many of her songs are easy for teenage girls to relate to, and is one reason why her music is so popular. Taylor Swift has put out 3 albums. She is still making music now.

    Obama stated that the job has been done and that the C.I.A has finally cought Bin Laden. Bin Laden was the leader of Al Qaeda.He was shot in the head, and was later buried in the sea. Many americans were relieved that after so many years of him in hiding, we have finally found him and killed him.

    Steve Jobs was the creater of Apple Industry. He had recently died on October 5, 2011. Earlier, in 2004, he recieved a liver transplant and in 2009 he took 3 medical absences from work.
