First Web Server and First Web Browser

In 1990 both the first web server, and the first web browser, called WorldWideWeb (no spaces) and later renamed Nexus were introduced by Tim Berners-Lee.

The Linux Kernel is Born

Java Introduction

1995 saw the first appearance of the Java programming language. Originally developed by Sun Microsystems, it is now owned by Oracle since Sun was acquired in 2010.

Nokia 9000

Nokia released the Nokia 9000, the first of Nokia's smartphones. With the Nokia 9000 Communicator, Nokia has created a completely new product category, the world's first all-purpose device for voice and data communication.
