Family
Galileo’s family moved to Florence where Galileo was born, in Pisa,Italy. -

Galileo heard about someone who made a telescope in Holland. Without examples or pictures, Galileo improved it and made the telescope more advanced. -

Rome
Galileo Galilei comes to Rome to show and demonstrate his telescope to the people -
Letters 1613-1616
Galileo wrote three letters to take part in the Heliocentric theory. The letters were read and the letters were against what Aristotelian scholars and Philosophers believed. The Church were convinced that Galileo was convicted of contradicting scriptures. -
Galileo’s restraints
After the drama that unveiled the Church decided that Galileo’s writings would be banned and told him not to believe his beliefs. -
Retires
He stops work and goes to live in his house located in Bellosguardo near Florence -
He is free
Galileo returns to Rome to appeal to his restraints. The Pope allows some exceptions. He is allowed to write un-biasly from certain perspectives. -
Conviction 1632-1633
A letter that Galileo wrote after he returned infuriated the Pope so Galileo was put on trial. Galileo was charged with heresy. -
House arrest
Galileo is in house arrest for 8 years until his death -
Death
Galileo died in Arcetri, Italy due to long term illness.
