  • French Indian war

    Was a war fought between Great Britain and the French over land and trade.
  • Sugar act

    Cut molasses prices from $.60 per gallon to $.03 per gallon. It also retain fine sugar and prohibited foreign rum. Colonist started a boycott in response to the sugar act
  • Stamp act

    All printed materials required a stamp. This caused violent protests and the stamp act congress.
  • Declaratory act

    When the Stamp Act was repealed, Parliament stated that it could make laws binding the American colonies in all cases whatsoever.
  • Townshend act

    introduced taxes and regulations to fund the British colonies and the colonists had already tried to stop direct tax. This eventually lead to protest.
  • Tea act

    Gave cheap tea to the colonists because Parliament needed to reduce the massive amount of tea. This upset at the colonist, because it was giving India a huge monopoly over tea. This led to the colonist, throwing millions of dollars worth of tea into the sea
  • The start of the revolutionary war

    A fight against the thirteen colonies and the British empire for their own independence, land and freedom from British tax.
