  • War began

    War began

    The war began due to the two territories claiming they own the same land which led to fighting and disagreements. Not only land but religious beliefs, government leaders, and waterways were all being fought over and creating arguments.
  • War Ended

    War Ended

    The French and Indian war ended in 1763 due to the treaty being made with Paris. Great Britain gained an abundant amount of land from the U.S, but by the end Great Britain had a colonial dispute which led to the American Revolution.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    The sugar Act was basically a law being passed to stop smuggling in sugar and molasses. It protected the goods from being stolen and the quality increasing.
  • Stamp act

    Stamp act

    The stamp act was an act that required colonist to pay taxes on each individual paper they purchased. The taxes were also placed on newspapers which made the colonist angry.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act

    The townshend act was put in place to make the colonies pay for themselves and have the government/officials salaries paid. Because of this act a plan was put in place to not buy any imported goods such as tea, paper, and lead.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act

    The Tea act was put in place to give the company a break from taxes. This caused the tea to be cheaper than the tea actually being smuggled in illegally. The Americans were affected by this because they now aren't allowed to buy tea from any other company.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    George III approved this act March 18, 1766. This act was a part of the repeal of the Stamp Act. The colonists were the ones who convinced George III to repeal it. The same day the declaratory act was signed.
