He was born in Zelazowa Wola, Varsovia. Frédéric and his sisters grew in an environment in which the taste for the culture in general, and the music especially was considerable.

When he was 6 years old had a very good music teacher, Wojciech Żywny, violinist lover of Bach's music and Mozart. One year later he composed his first work, called Polonesa en G minor. In 1818, when he was 8 years old, he played the piano very well and did his first concert.

In this year he finished and began giving lessons with the director of the High School of Music of Vasorvia and gave lessons of piano and organ.

The 27 of this month he graduated cum laude, an academic degree. In this time his composed sonata for piano n. º 1 in C minor.
