  • Who Is The Man Called Dred?

    Dred Scott was a slave. His owner took him and his wife through States that didn't allow slavery. These states had rules that any enslaved person brought into the state (Illinois and Wisconsin) became free. When he's is owner died, Scott sued his owner's wife for his freedom. After a string of court cases, which gave the Scott's their freedom and then revoked it, the case reached all the way to the United States Supreme Court.
