An Arabian woman Arrives in spring to the cottagers dwelling. She doesn't speak the language and doesn't know social norms so Felix starts to teach her. "It was a lady on horseback, accompanied by a country man as a a guide" (115).

Felix is teaching the Arabian woman the language that they speak and the monster is trying to catch on and learn to speak himself. He said that "My days were spend in close attention, that I might more speedily master the language" (117).

The Monster continues to listen to Felix teach the Arabian woman and he hears about different sexes and relationships. He also hears him read a book that involves manners, government, and Christianity. When talking to Victor he says "Other lessons where impressed up me even more deeply" (119).
