The year Wright gropped out of high school, Wright's parents divorced. His father moved away never to be heard from again. Wright changed his name to reflect his mother's family.

Frank Lloyd Wright enrolled at the university of Wisconsinat the age of 15 to study civil engineering. He needed experience so he took some mechanical drawing and basic mathematics courses.

Wright worked for Allan Conover, the Dean of the University of Wisconsin's engineering Department. He took this job to help pay his tuition an help support his family.

Someime in 1885, Wright worked for architect Joseph L. Silsbee in Chicago. Wile working for Slisbee, Wright drafted the construction of his first building, the Unity Chapel.

While in Chicago,Wright worked for the arcitectual firm of Adler and Sullivan. Louis Sulivan ad a profound influence on Wright. Louis rejected ornate European styles in favor of a cleaner aesthitic summed up by his maxim "form follows function".

Wright was fired from the firm of Adler and Sulivan. Wright was working with other clients without Aldler and Sulivan's permission to earn extra money.

Wright designed a unique residential complex for the wealthy buisinessman Darwin D. Martin in Buffalo, New York. The Martin House recieved National Historic landmark status.

The depression started ni the 30's and lasted a decade. During the depression there was a limit on new construction. There was no money, so he wrote and lectured widely.

In Spring Green Wisconsin, Wright opened up Taliesin as an architectural fellowship where young students could pay to work with and learn from Wright. Through th Taliesin Fellowship, Wright created master pieces sugh as Fallingwater.

An insane servant murdered Wright"s wife, Mamah Cheny, and six others, then set fire to Taliesin. Many people thought this horrific event would end Wright's career, but he proved them wrong with his decision to rebuild Taliesin.

Wright constructed Fallingwater, a residence for Pittsburgh's acclaimed Kaufman family in southwestern Pennsylvania. It was shockingly original and astonishingly beautiful. It remains one of Wrights's most celebrated works, a National landmark that is widely considered one of the most beautiful homes ever built.

Frank Lloyd Wright moved his family and fellowship to Phoenix where he built Taliesin West. The winters in Wisconsin were too cold so he moved to Arizona where the weather is warm all year round.
