Francisco Franco was born at 12:30 a.m. on December 4, 1892 at number 108 Calle María, located in the historic center of the city of Ferrol, in the province of La Coruña.

At the age of 14, together with his cousin, he entered the Toledo Infantry Military Academy. At the Academy he didnt stand out, ranking 251st out of 312 in his class.

On February 17, 1912, he arrived in Melilla in the company of Camilo Alonso Vega, a classmate, and his cousin Pacón. His first assignments in Africa were routine operations.In June of that year he becames lieutenant.

On October 12, 1913, he received the First Class Military Merit Cross for his victory in a combat on the previous September 22, and on February 1, 1914, he was promoted to captain for his courage in the battle of Beni Salem (Tetouan). In this first stage in Africa he showed courage and tactical ability.

On February 28, 1917, he was appointed commander with retroactive effect from June 29, 1916, becoming the youngest commander in Spain. Thanks to the fact that in 1916, in the taking of El Biutz, between Ceuta and Tangier, he was wounded in the lower abdomen he had a serious injury that could cause death.

Lieutenant Colonel Valenzuela died during a battle so Franco was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, for which he later led the Legion in June 1923

On October 13, 1923, he married Carmen Polo in the church of San Juan de Oviedo under a royal canopy.

On December of 1933, general elections were held that were won by the Right. The new government, at the end of March 1934, promoted Franco to division general.

On February 15, 1935, the Government awarded him the Grand Cross of Military Merit and appointed him Commander-in-Chief of the Moroccan troops. And later he is appointed Chief of the Army Central Staff in 1936.

Franco sent a telegram to the commanders in which it was seen that he was going to stage a coup. This triumph in Africa, Navarra, Burgos, Salamanca, Zamora, Segovia and Ávila, but was not supported in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao, neither by the civil guard nor by the assault guard. The coup d'état had failed and what would be the civil war.

In April 1937, he decreed his merger with the Carlists, proclaimed himself supreme head of the resulting party (Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista) and banned the rest of the political parties.

On June 7, 1947, the Law of Succession in the Head of State was approved, by which Spain was constituted as a kingdom, corresponding to the head of State to Francisco Franco.

Franco died on November 20, 1975 due to a natural death. Although before he died he spent 15 days with heart attacks, a stomach hemorrhage. For all this he was operated and in that operation he contracted peritonitis and died on the morning of the 20th of November.
