Food Program

  • Milk Program

    Began in Chicago in 1941, made part of the Child Act in 1960. Provided low income children with a low price of pint milk.
  • Free and Reduced Lunch

    Provides free and reduced school lunches for low income households or anybody who qualifies. Program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
  • Child and Adult Care Food Program

    This program provides healthy meals and snacks to adults and children in public and private non-profit facilities.
  • Breakfast Program

    School breakfast program provides students with a healthy free and reduced lunch based on income.
  • Summer Lunch Program

    Offers students the option of having a healthy meal in the summer whether they go to summer school or not.
  • Lets Move Program

    Michelle Obama introduced the Let's Move Program. It's her plan to help raise a healthier generation.
