  • Eadweard Muybridge

    Eadeweard was an english photographer. He is knew for his pioneer work in picuture studies of motion. Muybridge is the inventor of motion picture projection. He died on May 8th ,1904.
  • Thomas Edison

    Thomas was an american inventor and buisness man. He invented what he called "peephole kinetoscope" and his most famous invention the light bulb. Unfortunately he died on October 18th, 1931.
  • George Eastman

    George was the founder of the first camera "Kodak". He was a very good american invotoator and helped popularize the first camera. Sadly George Eastman died on July 12, 1854.
  • First Camera

    George Eastman realesed his first camera which was called the "Kodak". George really started manufacturing paper film in 1885 though. He also realseased his camera series the public in 1888. By the end of the 19th century Eastman had several models.
  • How it started

    It stared with a bet (25000). The bet was that a horse had all 4 legs off the ground at the same time and point. So they took alot of pictures which became motion pictures. The guy experiment this was Eadweard Muybridge.
  • Kinetoscope

    Thomas Edison was the inventor of this Kinetoscope. All It did was take many pictures and put them together to form an optical illusion that made it look like a motion picture. It only could take one person so the person would behind over and look in the glass and see the motion pictures. Its sort of like a telescope but for motion pictures.
  • First Movie theatre

    It was called Kinetoscopeparlor. These were really just motion pictures. And unlike today only one person could use it
  • Vaudeville

    These were the small theaters that proved variaties of entertainment. They had short dramtic movies that lasted for 30-60 seconds. They also became really popular over time.
  • First Projector

    Thomas Edion already had this he just never realeased it because he thought he could make more money with a single audience. The Lumiere brothers did what he didn't what to do and realeased it. They called it "cinematograhpe" and that where we got cinema from.
  • The Great Train Robbery

    The first real movie with a storyline. It only lasted for 12 mins but that was the longest one at the time. Directed by Edwin Porter and part of Edison productions
  • Nickelodeans

    Those Vaudeville became these (nickelodeans). They got there name from the cost to watch them a nickel. These were movie theaters bigger than vaudville and supposed to be better.
  • MPPC

    The was a group led by Thomas Edison. MPPC stands for motion picture patents company. All movies went through them. Any independent company got threated they roughed up and equipment destroyed.
