The third entry to the series, and it's best selling entry until the series' seventh entry, "Blazing Sword," 8 years later. The game notably came packaged with a remake of the first game, and a brand new follow up title as well.

The series 6th entry, it's first under new directors Tōru Narihiro Masayuki Horikawa and it's first appearance on a handheld console. Mainline Fire Emblem would remain on handheld systems exclusively until the the release of the 9th and 10th games. Afterward, the next five entries were also handheld exclusive.
