This developement made communication much longer, more direct, convinient and smaller. This marked the first time that a telephone was completely wireless. -

The first time that bent quartz with rods was used with the use of optical fibers. Also, the desgin was much smaller than it's predecessor. This is also one of the first times that optical fibers have been used for medical purposes and the first time that fiber optics was used for anything other than communications. -
Optical Television
Optical fibers were able to do image transmission. The overall structure of the optical fiber rods were now longer and flexible. -
Fiberscope
The developlent of the Fiberscope created big leaps in the developement of fiber optics by adding an extra coating of glass.Therefore, preventing light from leaking out and becoming mixed up with other light. As mentioned witht he word crosstalk. -
Laser
When the laser was invented there was a higher refractive index which meant that there was more frequencies of light.
