• Falmouth town came into existence

    Falmouth was built in 1795 by the Vestry who went on to lay out one of the finest towns in the Western Hemisphere. Falmouth came into being because of the demands f the port. Named after the birthplace of the Governor which was Falmouth, Cornwall in England. Thomas reid was a key figure in its development. It was originally named Palmetto Point Pen

    The Early Days

    Here Falmouth and indeed Trelawny was booming with economic progress and this era is regared as the most prosperous
  • Falmouth gets piped water

    The Falmouth water works was established in 1799 which was used to provide water for the town of Falmouth from the Martha Brae River. It is said by doing this, Falmouth had piped water before New York City
  • Fort Balcarres Moved

    In 1802, Fort Balcares which gaured the town was moved from the town centre and moved to the sea which is now where Falmouth All Age is now located.
  • Police Station built

    The Police station was built in Falmouth that included a jail cell, gallows and treadmill.
  • Town Hall/Court House built

    A magnificent town hall was built in 1815 where the members of the plantocracy could host their elaborate banquesta and events. It shared residences with the Falmouth Court House
  • Falmouth Post Office is built

    The Falmouth Post Office is built to accomodate the connections between Falmouth and the world
  • Baptist Manse bought by Baptist Missionaries

    The building that would house the Baptist Manse in Falmouth was originally a Masonic Temple. However during the construction the bills were extravagant and with piling debts it had to be rented. The baptist however bought it in 1832 and it stood as the home for the clergy until it fell into disrepair.

    Here Falmouth fell into an economic stupor where it loss it boom and became a fishinh village
  • William Knibb Memorial Baptist Church built

    The Baptist Church in Falmouth was built after the first chapel was destroyed during the emancipation riots
  • Albert George market built

    Albert Geoarge Market built and was named in honour of Prince Consort Albert Geoarge, Husband of Queen Victoria. It was the biggest market in the island at that time was built by the Honourable Leicester Colville Shirley
  • Town Court House demolished by fire

    A fire razed the Town Hall that was the officla offices of the Court House also.
  • Falmouth Falmouth Department opened

    The members of the public were able to get protection from the ravages of fire when this essential service was opened
  • Hugh Lawson Shearer becomes Prime Minister

    Born in Martha Brae, Trelawny he becmae Jamiaca's third Prime Minister
  • Falmouth declared National Monument

    Falmouth is given the prestigious title by the Government of Jamaica in 1996
  • Cricket World Cup

    The official opening of the Cricket World Cup was held at the Greenfield Stadium followed by a couple of matches
  • Bolt wins Olympic gold

    Usain Bolt, favourite son of Trelawny does his pairsh and country proud by winning the male spint double and 4*100 sprint relay at the Beijing olympics
  • Voyager of the Seas arrive in Falmouth

    The first ship to bless the new Falmouth Port, the Voyager of the Seas would lead the renaissance of Falmouth
  • Falmouth Port officially opens

    While ships had started to arrive a month earlier, the Port offically opened to the world on this day with the Oasis of the Seas making port
