First hockey stick
The first hockey stick was made out of wood and was made with no curve on the blade of the stick. The blade of the stick was just flat not like sticks today were there is a curve going either left or right -

In the 1950´s companys started wrapping fiberglass around the blades of wooden hockey sticks. -
Bannana Blade becomes very popular
In the year 1960 was when the banana blades started being the stick that everyone wanted to use that played hockey. -
Aluminum sticks start being manufactured
In 1980 company's started producing sticks that were made of just aluminum. -
Aluminum sticks aproved in the NHL
In 1981, the National Hockey League approved aluminum sticks to be used in NHL games. -
Carbon Fiber
In the early 90´s sticks started being produced and made out of carbon fiber as the main material. -
Composite blade
The first composite stick blade was introduced. -
Current Sticks
Current sticks that are used in the NHL and all other leagues are 1 peice sticks made of composite and carbon fiber
