    Playstation 2 incorperates the DVD player in it meaning the playstation 2 could play movies.

    Creator of blu ray Shuji Nakamura unveiled his prototypes for these blu-rays at CEATEC exhibition.

    The blu-ray disc founders was founded and the "Blu-ray project" was announced.
