Pixar was founded in the 1970's and was a small company. It did not make a lot of money and was bought by multiple companies through the 80's and 90's.In the 90's Pixar hired John Lasseter.

Pixar won their first oscar in 1988 when one of their first short films, Tin Toy, won an oscar. The oscar started all of Pixar's success.

After the oscar, Pixar started to make more short films with the help of John Lasseter. They short films weren't as successful as Tin Toy, but were enjoyable.

In 1995, Pixar released their first big film, Toy Story. As you know it was a success and won Pixar an Oscar.

In 1997, Disney and Pixar became partners. Pixar was still it's own company and not controlled but would collaborate with Disney on some films.

After, Pixar started releasing some of their best movies in the late 90's. Pixar released A bug's life in 1998 and Toy Story 2 in 1999. These two films both did amazing and are still called classics to this day.

In 2000, Pixar moved it's headquarter's to Emeryville. In the early 2000's Pixar released even more classics including Finding Nemo in 2003, and The Incredibles in 2004

Disney finally bought Pixar after years of partnering on movies in 2006. Pixar is now a Disney owned company(like Marvel and Star Wars).

Pixar went on to make classic films like: Monster Inc.,WALLE, Monsters University,Up, Toy Story 3, Brave, Inside Out, Finding Dory, Coco, and Incredibles 2. Both Up and Toy Story 3 made history by getting nominated for best picture at the oscars(which is rare for an animated film)

Pixar's next films are Toy Story 4, and a film called Onward starring Chris Pratt and Tom Holland.
