    The radio was invented in 1907 by Fessenden who used the scientific theory of magneticism. However, the radio did not gain popularity until 1933 when "FM" was created by E.H. Armstrong. Then, there were only a few stations, now, more than 40,000 radio stations exist worldwide.

    Ivented by American James T Russell, the CD is an evolution of laser disc technology whic uses a laser beam to get the high enough density required for recording high quality sounds. The CD at the time had more storage capability than a computer. By 2010 the compact disc was being outnumbered and out stored by newer technologies with greater storage capability

    The first digital audio player was released in the late 1990s. It had very small memory capability of only 4MB but was later evolved into the first apple ipod in 2001 with 5GB technology. The ipod was known as one of the most successful music gadgets of all time.

    The first cell phone with a built in Mp3 player was a Samsung SPH-M2100. It later evolved to the iphone and samsug galaxy as well as many others capable of so much more.

    The first apple ipad was relased in 2010 and was one of the first modern mobile devices other than a cell phone with music capability.
