  • The Blitzkrieg

    The Blitzkrieg
    Germany, under Adolf Hitler's command, produced extensive bombing rubs, called the blitzkrieg, over England. The goal of this was to disrupt industrial production and prepare for invasion. The bombing took a toll on the British populace. The main reason Hitler did this was to break the morale of the British people. If this happened, he hope that many citizens would stop supporting war effort, causing the government to surrender. Hitler hoped he would win the war without invading Britain.

    Battle of Britain
    In the late summer of 1940, Germany launched an attack in Britain from above in the air. The battle of Britain was Germany's first military failure and the German airforce, known as the Luftwaffe, was never able to defeat and overcome the Britain royal Air Force.
  • Operation Sea Lion

    Operation Sea Lion
    This operation was the name given by Hitler for the invasion of Great Britain in the year of 1940. The operation was never carried out during the war since the Germans had lost the Battle of Britain and Hitler was more focused on the attack of Russia than trying to invade Britain. It also never happened because it would have required air and naval supremacy over the English Channel, both of which the Germans never had.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Germans made tremendous advances into Russia into areas such as Moscow,Leningrad, and Stalingrad. When winter hit, Germans had to suffer a cold, bitter winter that year. In the spring of the next year, a German offensive was launched around approaches to Stalingrad. A nine month battle had followed and the German Sixth Army was almost destroyed. It would then take them three more years of fighting resulting in millions and millions of people dying before it was all over.

    This so called war in the pacific began in December when warplanes form Japan launched a suprise attack on the U.S. Naval base at the location of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Before this, Japan had been at war withChina for several years and had taken control of the chinese territory Manchuria. After the attack of Pearl Harbor, Japan began a massive expansion throughout the Pacific region
  • Wansee Conference

    Wansee Conference
    The "Final Solution" was the name for the anmihilation of the European Jews. At some time in 1941. Hitler had made a European-wide scheme for mass murder. Heydrich conducted theh Wansee Conference to inform and secure support from government ministries and disclose the participants that Hitler had tasked Heydrich with coordinating the operation. The aim of the Wansee Conference was clear to its participants- to further the coordination of a policy aimed at the annihilation of the European Jews
  • Battle of Coral Sea

    Battle of Coral Sea
    This battle was fought between the Japanese and allied navies in the Coral Sea. This was one of the first naval battles fought in the Pacific during World War II. Although this battle turned out to be a draw, it was an important turning point in the war in the Pacific because the Allies had stopped the Japanese advance. This battle was known throughout Australia with many of the people there saying that it wad the battle that saved Australia.

    Battle of Midway
    Following with the Pearl Harbor attack, the Japanese army had rolled over southeast Asia, the Philippines, and the East Indies. The war in the Pacific consisted of fighting on land, sea, and in the air. This was a four day battle between aircraft based on giant aircraft carriers, the U.S. demolished hundreds of Japanese planes and then soon regained the control over the Pacific. Given this, the Japanese still continued to fight on and would not surrender.

    This battle was not just a single battle but it was a major push by the German army during the last winter of World War II. As the last major German offensive of the war, Hitler had ordered an attack to drive towrad the Dutch port of Antwerp. Then on December 16, three German Armies lauched the deadliest battle of the war in the West which was very poor. As the armies drove deeper down, the line defining the Allied front made appearance of a bulge, the name theh battle would be forever known.
  • The Manhattan project

    The Manhattan project
    This project was a development program by the United States, United Kingdom. and Canada that produced the first atomic bomb during World War II. The most complicated issue was that the making of the atomic bomb would need a large amount of uranium to sustain a chain reaction. Once they had made the atomic bomb Enola Gay released the first atomic bomb which resulted in 66,000 deaths. Many survivers died due to radiation poison.
