  • The Staple Act

    This law stated that all foreign imports must be unpackaged and inspected in England. Meaning prices greatly went up for the American buyers of those goods.
  • The Molasses Act

    As the title of the law suggests. This law imposes taxes on molasses and sugar. This affected all of the sugarcane farmers in America as the taxes made it cost more to sell or import the sugar. Rum was also part of the taxing which could have crippled New Englands economy.
  • The Currency Act

    This act forbade colonies from making paper money. This heavily affected the colonist because it made paying for all the other taxes more difficult.
  • End Of the 7 Years War

    The First Treaty of Paris ends the 7 years war between every big power in Europe. This caused taxes to rise in America making conflicts worse.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British agreed with the Native Americans that the colonists would not settle west of the Appalachian​ Mountains as they did not want to start conflict after the 7 Years War.

    The Sugar Act is a modified version of The Molasses act that cut the taxes in half but they are more strictly enforced.

    This act put taxes on all printed papers in America, this was the first tax law to be used directly against the Americans. Britain also did this because they needed to pay of debts from the Seven Years War

    This act forced Americans to give up their towns to care for British soldiers by building barracks and giving them food. This only worsened the temper of the outraged Americans​,

    This act repealed The Stamp Act and lessened the effects of The Sugar Act because protests were hurting the British trade,

    This act put taxes on various items like paper, lead, glass, and tea. This worsened the unrest in America and made trades harder.

    These acts acted as punishment for the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Harbor was closed after the Boston Tea Party which affected the American trade system immensely.

    A battle on Christmas night where Washington and his men crossed the Delaware River to attack a British Garrison. This was a monumental battle as the battle was victorious for America. This battle was a stepping stone to ending the war which prompted America​ to start thinking about their own government system.

    British soldiers pillaged Philidelphia. American war criminals burned in Washington Square
  • Battle of Brandywine

    A battle at Brandywine Creek on a road linking Baltimore to Philadelphia​.

    The articles of confederation were approved by all states.
  • The Battle Of Yorktown

    The last major battle in the Revolutionary War that ended in a British surrender.
  • Treaty Of Paris

    The US signed a treaty ending the Revolutionary War and the United States are recognized as independent.
  • Annapolis Convention

    The Annapolis Convention is a meeting where a representative from each state gathered to talk about the problems with their country. Only representatives from 5 states showed up so they were not able to make changes to the Articles of Confederation.
  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion was a massacre that began when War Veteran Daniel Shays led a group of people to violently mob courts. This was caused by the people's loss of farms due to debt. This was the turning point that let governments know they need to change their systems
