This battle to control the Atlantic shipping lanes involved thousands of ships and stretched across thousands.

    VE day is a holiday celebrated on may 8th, 1945. It celbrates when the Nazi's surrendered and after that it marked the end of the world war for Europe. Upon the defeat of Germany, celebrations erupted throughout the world. From Moscow to Los Angeles, people celebrated. In the United Kingdom, more than one million people celebrated in the streets to mark the end of the European part of the war.
