The nations involved were the Allies and the Germans. At the time, Charles de Gaulle, a French army officer, led the French forces while Gerd von Rundstedt led Germany's invasion. They used handguns, rifles, submachine guns and machine guns. This battle was significant because as a result, the Germans won, taking over half of Northern France.

This battle was significant because the Allies won which severely affected Germany and marked the beginning of the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe from Nazi control.

Adolf Hitler lead the Germans while U.S. Army general, George S. Patton, and President Eisenhower lead the Allies. The weapons used were rifles, tanks, grease guns and handguns. In the end, the Allies won, causing high casualties on Germany, preventing them from resisting the advance of Allied forces following the Normandy Invasion.
