Graduating high school
Graduates high school and begins reporting for the Kansas City
Star. -
Joining the War
After high school Ernest signs up for the war. After being rejected do to eye vision. Ernest then becomes an ambulance driver. -
Injured and found love
After a short while in the War Ernest was seriously injured and was recovering at a hospital in Milan. There he falls in love with his nurse Agnes von Kurowsky. This inspired him to write A Farewell To Arms. -
Return Home
When Ernest returned home he went back to living with his parents. There he received a letter from Agnes von Kurowsky. The letter explained how they could no longer be together. After this his mother kicked him out of his home. -
The Toronto Star Weekly
Ernest was offered a job for the Toronto Star Weekly. Before he accepted it he married Hadley Richardson. After the marriage he accepted the job offer and move to Paris. -
Life in Paris
During his first years in Paris, Hemingway wrote extensively. Many events inspired his writing, In Europe he fell in love with the sport of bullfighting. -
Writing in Paris
From 1925 and 1929 Hemingway produced some of his best work. This included a short story In Our Time, and some novels The Sun Also Rises, Men Without Women, and A Farewell to Arm. -
Moving to Key West
Ernest divorces Hadley Richardson and marries Pauline Pfeiffer. The two leave Paris and head to Florida. They move to a town called Key West. -
Trip to Africa
Friends of the Hemingway's invite them to a trip to Africa. They Ernest Hemingway get inspiration to write two of his best short strories “The Snows of Kilimanjaro" and "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber." -
Cuba
After divorcing his wife Pauline Hemingway and his new wife Martha Gellhorn move to Cuba. He becomes good friends with Fidel Castro. -
Plane Crash
While visiting Africa, Ernest Hemingway hoped and on small plane to tour some waterfalls. While on the tour the pilot tried to avoid a flock of birds and lost control. The plane crashed. A couple days later he hoped on another plane. That plane also crashed. This time Hemingway had to use his head as a battering ram to escape. -
The Death of a Writer
On July 2nd 1961 Ernest Hemingway commits suicide. This was a tragic death and Ernest Hemingway will be remembered forever.
