Benjamen at age 3 finish taking a bath and was waiting in his room to get ready to go to the park. He decided to grab the clothes his mother had ready for him and dress up on his own. If his parents get upset for dressing by himself, he can experience shame and struggle on the ability to express himself and do things on his own later on his development. On the contrary, if his parents let him make choices when he's ready, he'll develop a sense of autonomy and confident to do things on his own.

Benjamen at age 6 plan on learning how to use his big brother scooter because he wants to ride it down the driveway hill on front of the house. if Benjamen is encourage, he'll follow his interest and develop a sense of initiative to set goals and to work towards them but if he is held back or discourage, he can develop guilt.

Benjamen at age 10 realize that he likes to play football with his friends, and he thinks he is good at it, so his parents enrolled him in a football academy. if Benjamen receive good feedback from his parents, coach and peer, he'll develop confidence to master his skills and pursue goals he set to be successful later on his development. but if he received negative feedback, he may view himself less confidence and less capable to achieve challenging goals and grow a sense of inferiority.
