Mary (age 6) is just starting first grade and is beginning to learn basic skills as well as gain friendships and become more involved in the community. This is Erikson's fourth stage Industry vs. inferiority. (Main developmental challenge is to begin to learn knowledge and skills of culture) -
Event 2
Mary (age 45) is now a teacher at the elementary school she went too as a child and is helping future generations further there knowledge. This is Erikson's seventh stage, Generativity vs. Stagnation. Main developmental challenge is to care for others and contribute to the well-being of the young. -
Event 3
Mary (age 85) Is now retired and going through scrapbooks with her husband and her eldest daughters family and is happy with the way her life had turned out. This is Erikson's eighth stage, ego integrity vs. despair. Main developmental challenge is to evaluate lifetime, accept it as it is.
