Make Way for the Renaissance
The Renaissance sparks a new beginning of writing and almost all types of arts, medicine, and science. It also is the the period where the 1st authorized bible was made. Writers had to find new ways to express the ideas they were making. Also new suffixs were added to the english language like un and able (uncomfortable, unable). -

With england discovering the new land, america, immigrants also followed. Bringing All their languages and culutures with them english also got more american with middle english remnants we use today like i guess and i think. -
The Industrial Revolution and Beyond
during the 19th century british was the leading industrial country. during this age advances came in technolgy and sciance. This soon ended in the 20th century, During the 20th century a new english dictionary was made. For the 1st half of the century english changed through pronunciation but the other half was all about the proper way of speaking. -
The Beginning of a new era
After The Roman Age was destroyed and the English colonies were broken off tribes ravaged the villages. Having no care for any documents many were burned and destroyed. The land was soon ruled by the tribe the Anglo Saxons. -
Suppression leads to succession
The Danes took over England in 787a.d, but in 878a.d The Saxons came back to power. The Danes were restricted to a part of England called 'Dane law'. But in 980a.d the Danes retaliated and came back into power until 1042a.d. The Danes affected the English language immensely. Around 1,500 different place names. -
The Forge of English
Christian Missionaries soon arrived to the land of the Anglo-Saxons. They gave the Saxons Latin vocabulary, manuscripts, and the bible. These missionaries planted the 1st seeds of literacy. The scribes wrote with no standard spelling so they spelt based on sound showing the 1st signs old English dialect. In England four dialects arose .Northumbrian in the north; Mercian in the midlands; West Saxon in the south and west; and Kentish in the south east. Most Documents were written in.
