In the police station the policeman ask Christopher why did he hits him, and he just answer that he want that the police stop touching him and also they ask him if he killed Wellington.

He remembers again when her mother died, His dad says she died of a heart attack, which surprises Christopher because she was only thirty-eight years old, he never go to see her in the hospital.

He started to look who killed Wellington, he goes to Mrs. Shears house and tells her that he didn't kill Wellington: but he wants to know if she knows who did it, the lady close the door in his face.

He remembered again when her mother died, a teacher tells him that his mother went to heaven after she died, but he doesn't think heaven exists, he said that people believe in heaven because they don't like the idea of dying.

Christopher do some detective work, He ask to his neighbors if they know something about who killed Wellington, he has a conclusion the only person who doesn't like Mrs. Shears was his wife, he thinks she did it, she was his prime suspect.

He says that the other students are stupid, with other words they had "disabilities". He has his own plan take his A levels, go to university, and get some awesome job which pays a lot in Math and Physics.

He remember that his mother and father used to fight a lot, he says that most of their problems came from the stress of taking care of him, he wonder why they don't get divorced.

Mrs. Shears called his father and tell him about Christopher, his dad get mad and makes him promise that he won't go around asking people about the dog, and anything involving his ridiculous detective game

Christopher goes to school and tells Siobhan that he won't be able to finish the book, he promise to his dad that he won't do it, during that week he sees yellow cars and that mean to him, bad days

With the red cars Christopher says it will be a great day, he talk with Mrs. Alexander about Mrs. Shears and she reveals something, that his mother and Mr. Shears were friends he thinks that it means they had a kind of relationship, and this scared him.

Mr. Jeavons believes Christopher likes math because, in math, straightforward answers exist for every problem, unlike in life. Christopher disagrees that math problems always have straightforward answers. Christopher thinks the problem shows that intuition can be wrong, and that sometimes numbers are complicated and not straightforward at all.

When Christopher gets home, his father's friend Rhodri is there, Rhodri asks him to multiply 251 and 864, and Christopher replies with the correct answer: 216,864. he goes outside in the garden and looks up at the sky, they think about aliens.
