    Constantine was the first emperor who was Christian and one of the most historic characters in history. He was born in 272 and his parent was emoeror of the Western part. Diocletian raised him until Constantine escaped him and met his father. He won a lot of territory around the Mediterranean and defeated all of his enemies. He then died in the year 337.

    Justinian I was born in the year 482. He was a important emperor of the Eastern Empire who was a senator and a soldier. He got married to Theodora who made him have lots of problems. He rebuilt Constantinople and built the Hagia Sophia. He died in the year 565 leaving a very important legacy in history.

    Irene was born in the year 752 in a noble Athenian family. She was the first woman to be rule the Byzantine Empire. Her major accomplishment was that she restored the icons. When she died she was turned into an icon and was an important character in Christianity. Many historians do not consider her a good empress but she was unique.

    He was born in the year 957. He expanded the Empire and had a strong personality. He was known to be one of the best emperors in the Empire. Basil II was also nicknamed the Bulgar slayer. He then died in the year 1025 and his reign ended.

    There was a battle with the Bulgars in which Basil II won. He was then named the "Bulgar slayer". This was a decisive battle for the Byzantine Empire and they luckily won. In the battle they blinded the surviving Barbarics.
