The leaders of USSR, USA, and Britain met in Tehran. Britain and France then agreed to open a second front against Germany by invading France. -

Another Conference was held in Yalta, because it was clear that Germany was going to be defeated so the 3 Allies agreed to divide Germany into 4 areas. (France, UK, USA and USSR) -
The Postdam Conference
The third and final conference was held in Postdam and it was decided that Germany would be demilitarised and turned into a democratic country. -
The USA dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan.
This angered the Soviet Union who were trying to develop their own atomic bomb. -
A telegram was sent to America by the Soviet Union.
George Kennan, an American diplomat in the Soviet Union sent a telegram to the US saying that the best policy to pursue against the Soviet Union would be one of the containments - (not letting the Soviet Union expand any further.) -
The Soviet Ambassador sent a telegram to the government in Moscow.
