Earth's history

  • 4560 BCE

    Planetary accretion

This was the time when stars, galaxies, planets formed. The time when Earth and other planets formed in our solar system.
  • 4500 BCE

    Formation of the moon

The moon formed because of the massive collision of the proto-Earth and another asteroid. Over time, the orbit of the moon slowly slowed down. Then, it caused the Earth to slow down the rotation as well because the moon had caused the tides.
  • Period: 4500 BCE to 3800 BCE

    Planetary Cooling

The heat from the lower layers of the planets is sent to the top layers; the energy is sent to space. For example, when earth first formed, it was covered by magma. Slowly, the earth settled and cooled down into the core, mantle, and crust.
  • Period: 1500 BCE to 1000 BCE

    Core formation

Metal sank through the magma and with the exposure of silicon they reacted and with the help of high pressure and temperature to what is known for the core and mantle today.
  • Period: to

    End of Heavy Bombardment

The later period of a time when small asteroids would crash into the larger ones.
