The Santa Sabina church is one for the history books as well as your camera. The church was the first to have a statue of Jesus on a crucifixion alongside the two thieves. Making this church a notable one on my timeline. -
Byzantine Europe c. 526-547 CE
The San Vitale in Ravenna is an important survivor of the Christian Byzantine church. The church has inside it, beautiful mosaics. My favorite of the mosaics is the depiction of Empress Theodora. -
Of Tralles and Isidous of Miletus C. 532-539 CE
Hagia Sophia meaning Holy Wisdom is one of the most important churches in Istanbul Turkey. It has a beautifully intricate architectural design, one that I hope to see someday. The ceilings are rounded and although there are windows, it relays mainly on the chandeliers inside it for lighting. It looks magnificent with all the twinkling lights. -
Located currently in Normandy, France, the Bayeux Tapestry is a 70 meters long picture of embroidery. It depicts the duke of Normandy at the time and the king of England fighting in the Battle of Hastings. It was originally commissioned for the Bayeux cathedral.

In Granada, Spain there is a huge palace and fortress complex. With arch doorways and columns, it is a sight to behold. There are doors with holes cut into them to make a design when light shines through. My favorite detail of the palace is how you can still be inside the complex and see water, as there is a reflecting pool in the quad.
