    John Comenius wrote Orbis Pictus, the first picture book for children. He believed that education should being in the early years.

    "Father of the kindergarten"

    Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel came up with a role of teacher to a gardener. He believes in self-activity such as teaching songs like ABC's, dressing up, and the "gifts" were the objects for the children to learn from. Using the "gifts" to learn the size, color and shape to learn counting, filling the hole, measuring and so on.
