The Beggining of education
Starting in 1483 until 1546 Martin Luther advocated for schools to start teaching children how to read. Than just 60 years later John Comenius wrote the first picture book for children starting an evolution. While he also helped show how much educaion beneifited children. -

In 1907 Maria Montesorri opens the Children's House in Rome. In 1926 the National Association for the Education of Young Children is founded. Now over 100,000 members and 400 affiliates. -

Obama takes action
In 2013, President Obama called on Congress to expand access to high-quality preschool to every child in America, called The Preschool for All initiative. -
Head start begins
In 1964 Head start organinzation opens funded by the Economic Opportunities Act. Than in 1969 the first Kindercare is open to the public.
