    The Compromise of 1850 was composed of five different bills. The results of this are: texes gives up part of it's territory, california becomes a free state, poplar soverignty is used to decide if a states has slavery or not, and the slave trade was banned in the capital.
  • Kansas Nebraska Act

    The Kansas Nebraska Act created the two different territories of Kansas and Nebraska. They where going to use popular sovereignty to decide the use of slaves in this state. This caused bleeding Kansas to occur because it was made into a political war ground.

    The election of 1860 was won by Abraham Lincoln. This sparked the south to try to remove themselves from the Union.

    The Civil War was the south's attempt at removing themselves from the Union. The north's superior technology, including the telegraph and connected railroads, allowed them to win the war.
  • Transcontinental Railroad completed

    The Transcontinental Railroad was a railroad that connected the country from east to west. This took about seven years with two different railroad companies building from the ends, connecting them up in the middle.
  • Reconstruction Ends

    The Compromise of 1877 was used to settle the dispute against the presidential election, take troops out of the south, and most importatntly, it ended the Reconstruction era.
